get some itr pistons, gsr oil and water pump, and some new bearings and rings then let a good shop assemble it and put it together. and tune asap. reson why people's ls vtec doesnt last is oil leaking problems. if its built right then it will last

like gold ef says, they'll only last long if you rebuild them right and perfect. if you dont build them right and perfectly, they wont last long. all it takes is time and money

Agreed. If you don't already know what goes into building that motor, then you should look into something else. They can be reliable if built correctly, but the biggest thing is rod stroke ratios and oil. There are a ton of write ups on the ls/vtec. Find one and learn.

gsr main girdle
it's like a brace for the bottom end and will help keep the rotating assembly in check during upper rpm's

from what I've read (I've been trying to read up on the LS/VTEC until I found out that it prolly costs more than the GSR) u have to like, build it like blueprinted (if that's even possible on a 4 banger) -- think they said it has to be overhauled or u won't get much life out of it :-\
