Default ls/vtec

i want to vtec my ls but i heard that the hybrid setup is yet to be perfected. i heard that the motor usually only lasts a couple of months before it starts to leak and have problems. Does anyone know anything about this? why would the ls/vtec hybrid be so popular if it just breaks after a little while?

the ls/vtec is a good setup. the only reason why it'll leak or have problems is because of bad build up. if you build it up very good, then it'll last. if you dont build it right, then it'll have problems.

true...just take care of it, never pass 3k with same oil, just do normal check ups, and make shure you take it to a good mechanics that knows about these sort of things

Actually, ls/vtec doesn't work in the search.

lsvtec returned 939 results.

You sir need to GTFO of this site....Some people are just plan retards! No, it's not suppose to leak! What kind of a questions is that, and why are you thread jacking!
To the OP, take your car to a real tech. who knows what he is doing, and has done LSV converstions b4...I bulit mine 3yrs ago, and she still runs like a champ, take no short cuts, and don't be cheap, when it comes to this Set-up!

yet another unsearched post. ls/vtec setup's are indeed tempermental. When building this setup, make sure you take your time and do things the right way. Also, be prepared to spend a good amount of money, for lsvtec's are too often built quickly and carelessly, much like all to many turbo setups. If you have the time, dedication, and money to do the swap, I say go with it because an lsvtec setup is like no other swap. goodluck.
