What all do I need to swap my D15B2 Auto with a D16Y manual?
What all do I need to swap my D15B2 Auto with a D16Y manual? Also what would I have to do to keep the AC from the D16Y? My AC on the D15 doesn't work and I am Paying a place to do the swap for me but wanted to buy the parts myself. Thanks for your help
are you doing the complete swap? or the just the tranny?....
If you are converting to manual. you will simply drop the engine like you would anyother engine but you have to had your clutch cable and and your pedal assembly.
For the rest of the swap you will need the engine, transmission, ecu, also if your d16 is vtec you will need to add wires to harness at your ecu for it your vtec to work... unless you buy the chassis and engine bay harness.. ecu... But trust me there is alot of work but think how i felt, I just spent the last three weeks putting a b16a into a dx

Then they should give you a list, but since I'm a nice guy.
Just to do a CABLE TRANNY SWAP ONLY:
EF tranny mounts for 5spd for D series
Cable tranny
Clutch
Flywheel
Flywheel bolts
Axles (if you want the correct lenght, Auto axles work, just 1 inch shorter I beleive)
Clutch cable
Pedal assembly for 5spd
Throttle cable (only if you convert to the manual gas pedal, or so I've been told, I don't know cause both times I did it it was switched from DX to Si throttle cable for 5spd so I don't know, but since you are going D16, you need to get the Si cable for it to look/fit right and tight)
Shift linkage
Shift linkage bushing and coupler
Shift boots (for heat)
Shifter (short shifter for fun)
Shift ****
Shifter boot (no need for center console, you can use your automatic one, with some work)
Spare metal (for welding holes shut)
Random hardware (Honda has welded on nuts to the body, your automatic car will not have these, so get some spare nuts and bolts, in metric, this is a honda, not a ford)
It's about 10-20 hours of work, depending on what goes wrong. The car will never drive like it was from factory, but mine drives really good and the gears line right up. I'm gonna upgrade my shifter bushings to energy suspension and see if that's why my shifter feels sloppy.
EDIT: I forgot to mention. You will have plugs left over after the swap, don't worry if anything goes bad with them, they are pointless. I just left them be. To be able to get the car key in and out, you will need to cut and solder 2 wires togeter at the shifter. And you will need to run reverse lights to the shifter, where the plug is located. I might just do a write up, since it seems like a popular thing. I know there is a small write up out there, but it's alot harder then it seems.
