Default Minor bug on my new build

Motor:
AEM EMS
B16 motor
Jg Intake
Darton Sleeves
pauter rods
wiseco Pistons
New Honda everything (pumps bearinsg etc)

Problem:

While at idle trying to setup limiters in the basemap. temp on the laptop went well over 200*. stock temp needle was not even at the middle (thanks for the totally inaccurate guage honda *grrr*) anyway the upper radiator hose was Hot and hard ( full of coolant) the lower radiator hose was ice cold. So we figured the thermostat just wasnt opening ( although brand new) anyway I ran to pepboys bought another one and put it in there. same thing.

No way two new stats could be bad. Then it occoured to me.. if the upper radiator hose is hot. obviously the heat is coming from the engine. but how? the lower was soft and cold as ice. it cant be coming back thru the upper hose??

water pump working?

when u bleed the coolant system.

did you have the heat on high and let it idle for a few minutes?

btw, the honda gauges work, they are designed not to go up until it gets hot like 225-230 degrees...

incorrect thermostat for setup maybe one with softer spring. try maybe not even runnong the thermostat once, then check to see if the temps keep going up
