Default what would cause this ?

When my gas gets down to about a quarter tank or less, a lot of the time when im driving and accelerating out of nowhere the rpm's just stop dead and the whole car will jerk and stop accelerating, and i have to let off the gas and go easier on it. This only happens below a quarter tank of gas, when i have like 4-5 bars or less. It seems to get worse the lower the gas gets, and unless i drive it really easy it will do this... any thoughts?

Maybe fuel pump related?

Try keeping it over a 1/4 - because you don't want to burn out the fuel pump. The gas helps lubricate the fuel pump.

either fuel pump or filter is clogged. change out the filter first to see if it helps. how many miles you got on the motor?
