just wondering about timing issues
in my swap i run the Jun3 head package and stock gsr bottom
where should timing be at
right now it was at 20degrees but backed it to 18
is this about right
it is a P28ECU so no know sensor
I just wanted to know how far might be too far

I advanced the ignition timing without a timing gun on my ITR a while back. Not a good idea. I was running 20 degress (when i finally timed it the right way) BTDC and backed it down to 18. Stock for my car is 16. Bumping up the ignition timing can free up a couple of horses but it also puts unnecessary strain on the piston rings (they will wear out faster from what i have been told). It is up to you. Must get on a dyno to see if there are any gains from bumping up the ignition timing. Hope this helps.

for one thing the ITR has a knock sensor ,do you can crank that all the way to the firewall but the computer will keep knocking the timing back
the reason i posted is for a p28 ecu which has no knock sensor
it wont back down timing if there is any pinging
