Default oxygen sensor causing me to go into limp mode? doesnt make sence to me

I'm getting code 1, then unplugged my o sensor and I got 43. I dont see how/why my o sensor would cause me to go into limp mode? I understand that code 1 should through a cell, but not knock my butt into limp mode!

Is there another meaning for CEL code 1 other than o sensor? I'm stumped.

O2 will boot you to limp mode. Your computer is trying to save your cat when it does this.

Double check your O2 connector. Mine comes apart from the back of the connector. Grab just the wires on both sides of the connector and push then together. Also reset the computer when you are done.

See if that does it!

actually your ECU is trying to save your engine when it drops you to limp home mode off CEL 1.
the cat suffers because the engine runs rich and dumps fuel into the cat...

if you have replaced the 02 sensor and its still giving you a code, then the problem is a shorted/ open wiring or the ecu needs to be replaced. Easiest thing is to try another computer if the problem doesnt go away then hit the wiring schematics

it was my oil pump... sounds pretty odd. I also misread a code 1 which was actually 10.
