Default which turbo for 400-450whp d16?

not looking for something real real expensive, just something that will get me to 400-450whp on a d16. the entire engine will be ported and built, etc.

I would go with an SC44 and the 750's should be big enough.

sc32 can support up to 480hp
sc44 can support up to 565hp
and the 750 injectors should be good for your needs but u might want to go bigger just in case.

Yes his specs were in flywheel hp. Take out about 12-15% for whp numbers.

t3 super 60 possibly? There is alot of turbos capable of flowing enough to support 400-450whp the trick is to read compressor maps to find one that will be the most efficent for your setup. Do some research and come back with more questions.

I would use a GT30R if money is no object.

So would I, but he said nothing real expensive so I'm guessing money is an object.

you do realize that 400 whp will not stick to the street right?

you could use gear based timing retard with neptune, but even then will all the timing pulled you wouldnt have 400+ to the street / wheels.

t3t67, 750cc's, zex cam and a car that wont stick to the ground

im buildong one similar

i didnt say it would be legal to drive on the streets... but it will be a street driven car.

But more importantly that the turbo...what supporting peices have you chosen for the build? Any of the turbo's we are recommended are pretty much the same frame, its just which trim works best, but I would like to see mani choice, front mount choice etc. so we can maybe find a kit that will do what you want and take lots of guess work out of it.

For me the choice is easy though, 30R. I, as well as a good amount of others would be dissapointed if you didnt do your car the justice of using one </TD></TR></TABLE>

im going with a ramhorn manifold, greddy front mount, fully built and ported head and block, 3" exhaust, etc.

dont really need a turbo with room to grow though.. since i know for sure 400-425 whp will be plenty for me on the street. anymore than that its just wasted power.
