Default Anyone have issues with Profec B Spec1's not holding high boost?

Just wondering if it is me, or if others have had the same problem, i have the old school Profec B Spec1 the one with the dials, not the one with the digital screen.

and at boost levels of like 20psi or more, it seems to want to fluctuate boost real bad, as if the controler cant keep up, and gate boost properly

anyone else had this issue?

this is the one i have

thnaks guys

I would definatley take that boost controller over the Spec 2 any day. Might want to move to a 10-12psi spring and it should be fine.

I have tuned several cars on the spec 1 without those kind of problems.
I would guess you could try a mbc to see if its an issue with the controller or not ?

I've never had any problems with the profec spec 2. I acutally like it alot better then the spec 1 but the spec 1 works fine also. Definately shouldn't be having that problem with a 9psi spring and only 20 lbs of boost. Check into ur lines and make sure everything else is up to par.

and the vacuum lines are set up just like the diagram i got from thier site, the diagram is kinda odd but i did it that way and it has worked well up until now, till i went to go above 18psi

I have the greddy profec Type-S. I guess it is a profec II but with analog ***** like the profec I. I always had issues when at just 10psi but I think that was related more to crappy internal wastegate. Hopefully on this new setup (shoping with Full-Race requires patience....) I won't have similar issues to what you are describing.
