ok.. i pulled my car out of the local grocery store..i got to 4500 rpms in 2nd gear not running it hard just your avg pull out i guess.. my trans made a poping(just 1) sound as if something jarred loose.. now makes grinding sound.. wont move.. i took it home and theres a finger thick gap between the axel and trans.. i can get my finger in between the 2.. no oil has come out and now it will turn the wheel but makes a bad grinding sound as i start to release the clutch... im thinking its the throw out bearing.. i still have all my gears..i just wanted to get an idea of what it could be before i start tearing it apart..have any of you had this issue??

the clutch operates..
it will turn the wheels over but as i start to grind as i release the clutch so i just shut it down to keep from damaging it any more..
ideas and opionions please

 

gap between axle and trans??? grinding sound??? sounds like your axle popped out...easy fix...get something and knock it back in....itll snap into place...in fact I KNOW thats what your problem is....just put the axle back into the tranny...push and twist...it should click into place
