Default question about y8 head on d15b2

so i know, metal gasket, roughly 10.5:1 c/r.. adjustable cam gear to set the timing right... my question, i suppose you have to chip the PM6 ecu to get the vtec fuel maps correct, right?

who does this for a good price? is there an ECU that you can slap in that DOESNT require the chipping?

You might be able to getaway with using an si-r civic or crx ecu.(ef's)
Your motor's compression is close to that of a b16a. unfortunately I don't live where u live. Cuz I know a guy here who gives any program u want for pretty cheap. But in yur case you need to tune it first. The pm6 ecu is a non vtec ecu anyway.(that's an si ecu right?) But I heard that you can add vtec with a chip. You should tune your ecu with a chip while on a dyno

I've tried the JDM B16 ECU. Just starts, then dies. I've heard that the TPS reads differently and the pinout might be differently. I;ve been meaning to looking into it, but I am lazy.

But to tha poster:
If you can't use the si-r ecu then you should prolly switch to obd1

yeah you can chip the pm6 with vtec fuel and timing maps,,and have turboedit control the vtec..check out http://xenocron.com..

you can do it yourself if you have some soldering knowledge..buy the chipping kit from here http://xenocron.com/products.php?page=chippingkits,,but then what fuel maps would you use ?? you think p28 d16z6? or jdm d15b vtec? or d16y8 maps?? which one would work better? then when you have the maps you have to open 2 turboedits on your computer...and the vtec maps will have 2 ignition maps and 2 fuel maps...you take the low ignition and low fuel and copy them to 0-5000revs...then take the high ignition and high fuel and copy in the upper rpm.then click enable vtec,,and hook up the a/c clutch relay wire directly to the vtec solenoid and thats how vtec will kickon..do you understand? im not good with explaining **** but thats how i did my when i put pr3 maps in my pm6..
