As far as I know, it usually says it on the can as well, its low pressure you would use.

The can will only fit on one of them since there both different sizes. I think the low pressure is bigger than the high pressure. Just make sure if you doing a liquid charge use the high side so you don't ruin the compressor. If its a vapor you hold the bottle right side up and heat it with a hair drier to get the pressure up and force the vapor out.

I havent used the cans so I would think its vapor like alread stated

your recharge hose will only fit on one of them. one is the wrong size.

Just turn on your engine, turn a/c on full blast full cold, let everything get warm, then connect your hose and leave the can right side up. open the valve if your hose has one, if its the autozone kind then just twist down the **** then twist it back out and the stuff will all start slowly draining into the system. its easy, i see people everyday at my work do it who dont even know how to do routine maintenence.

hope your system wasn't open to the atmosphere this whole time it was down. If so you'll be in for a nice suprise when you go to charge it up. Air is a non condensable and will cause all kinds of problems for your AC. Take it to a shop and have them pull it down into a vacuum for you. Maybe even have them swap out the dryer for you. This is pretty much a must if the system has been empty for any extended amount of time.

Evac and recharge at an A/C shop. All A/C systems will slowly leak over time so you might as well just do the full thing at a shop.

Not true. If you run your AC every now and then (at least 20 minutes a week...even in the winter) your seals won't dry up and leak.

And all you guys that have ACs that are still kind of blowing cold air, you MIGHT be ok with just a "top off". I hate it when people use those DIY kits and don't know what the hell they're doing. An AC system needs to have a pretty precise charge. I'm willing to bet that at least half of the DIY AC charges that were done by Joe Shmoe that doesn't know **** about AC ended up being overcharged.
My suggestion (unless you know what you're doing and not just reading the instructions on the back of the can) is to take it to a shop and have somebody that knows what they're doing charge your stuff up.

i live about an hour from you. to the west. if you come to me i wont charge you anything. its real easy. just make sure you have a can of the seal coditioner stuff. forgot exactly what its called but it comes in the ac recharge kit from wal-mart or most parts stores. it reconditions the seals so it doesn't leak. you put that can in first then the 2-3 cans of refrigerant.

It is important to understand that the system will not cool if it is undercharged, but it will not cool if it is overcharged either.

It is best to take it to a shop and have them do it.

Here is a hint, however... A lot of body shops have the equipment to recharge AC. And they will charge you a lot less to do it than most full time AC repair places.... Just call around, you may get very lucky.

be very carful about over charging and make you sure you take all the air out of the system it willhelp make it cooler if where i would take to a shop because it is very easy to mess up the whole system if you over charge your compresor will go to crap and youll have to get it replaced ad if you replace your compresor youll have to replace you dryer and dont forget you have oil in the system the compressor needs it to work right to much or to little can cause big problems

forget that I took mines in to fix it at a Car X place freaken took only no more than 45 min. I was done and out with freaken 40 degree ice cold A/C and they check for the leaks none! 95 civic coupe re-charge $150 not much to me, I'm cold now-beats having to see if I did things right or wrong doing it myself
