Threaded Hole In my manifold??

Default Threaded Hole In my manifold??

See the hole in the middle of the manifold.... What is that for? Should i just put a bolt in and plug it?

Its for an EGT probe.

this man is correct

if u have no egt, then just plug it

egt = exhaust gas temp gauge

ok thats what i figred but i wasnt sure at all... Is it worth buying an EGT kit or should i just plug it?

egts are nice but they can be pricey all depends on your budget


they can help you determine if you are detonating

If you plug it, I think it is a 1/8" npt thread. If you have the money I would get one, Its a big peace of mind if you are doing a 5th gear pull to make sure you arnt going to melt your pistons lol.

Also, on Ebay, decent Autometer ones can be had for around $100-120 brand new, so I would deffinatley get one IMO.

i got a megan racing, $95, works great kinda hard to read during the day but unless your blind its pretty good

I remember you posted something earilier.....detonation reads COLD on a EGT not hot. Hot just means you'll burn an exhaust valve or you may have high cylinder pressures/temps.

To original poster: You don't need an EGT really, just plug it up and be on your way
