If you plug it, I think it is a 1/8" npt thread. If you have the money I would get one, Its a big peace of mind if you are doing a 5th gear pull to make sure you arnt going to melt your pistons lol.
Also, on Ebay, decent Autometer ones can be had for around $100-120 brand new, so I would deffinatley get one IMO.

I remember you posted something earilier.....detonation reads COLD on a EGT not hot. Hot just means you'll burn an exhaust valve or you may have high cylinder pressures/temps.
To original poster: You don't need an EGT really, just plug it up and be on your way
