who's running higher than 11.0 compression?
I have my head milled 40 thou and I'm installing some type S pistons later this month so I will be around 11-4 compression before carbon build up.
I'm looking for some feedback from the high comp 2.2 owners.
also, is anyone running a forged piston with stock sleeves? Some say you can and some say you can't but who knows first hand.

I was running Type-s Pistons 3 years ago. I had also had a 50ths mill on the head. I ran fine on 92 octane. NEVER run forged pistons with the stock H22a/H23a Sleeves. It will tear the walls up. Back in the day people didn't know and many people learned the hard way. I have dissasembled 4 H22as with forged piston in them. It was not a pretty sight. Major scaring of the walls.
I ran some high compression pistons... *ran*... as in past tense. Never go above an end result of about 12:1 if you want streetability. I was pushing 13:1. Fun fun.
11.5:1 is great. Nice happy medium.
Oh, and listen to Prospeed on the forged pistons and stock sleeves..... cause he's right.

what do you have does to run low 12's? turbo? s/c? my friend that's getting a prelude wants to know. thanks
well, it's on an h22a so it's gotta be fwd.
Isn't there a kitty in a tree you should be saving?

well i was refering to laughin2.2 because he said "Low 12s on street tires? You need a RWD car. " which is bull considering the first question asked was directed to a prelude (h22a) which runs low 12's streetable.c

Show me a Prelude that runs low 12's on street tires. Go on, show me.
Okay. Did you want the street tires in the front or the back??
this is getting nowhere, i never said anything about street tires. what's the point of arguing over stupid ****, pointless.
2.2guy: We answered you question, correct?
Now we're discussing purpleGSR's question on what it takes to get a prelude into the low 12s, and I said that on street tires it is not possible. If anyone can prove me wrong, I'd like to see it.
"Sorry I forgot to mention, motor went through lots of dyno hours. Plus motor blew up due to too much boost. Which was 28 lbs. And it was never tuned for that. I know that motor would have been fine, if we didn't turn up the boost that high, we usually run 18lbs. We only had manual boost controller at the time. No matter what anybody says, i still think you can run cast pistons on an unsleeved h22 block!!!"
I pulled this off another board, I thought it was interesting since it contradicts everyone!
and about a prelude in low 12's with street tires, I'm gonna say low 12's are not possible but high 12's are.

you are right, he did say cast but its a typo on his error.
here is his earlier post on the subject of forged pistons on stock 2.2 sleeves.
"FALSE, We have proven it at the track. We used JE pistons on an unsleeved block, ran 10.65@135 in Palmdale last year. Motor ran 3 events before blowing up. "
yes his motor did blow up but he claims from the boost.

Here's what I can tell you:
-The guy's motor blew after 3 runs.
-I trust what prospeed has seen with his own eyes.
-If you run forged pistons without resleeving your block, you will be thanked for being the guinea pig. No else in this forum is going to risk their engine that way.
