Default B18C1 gsr motor, how can i check to see if timing belt jumped a tooth?

car seems slower, light white smoke out of the exhaust while under boost, and it backfires occasionally. all of this started happening a couple of days ago. i have no cover on the timing belt, so the cam gears are viewable...how would i check to see if the timing belt jumped a tooth or something?

Timing set at 16 BTDC, fairly new NGK spark plugs. Runs perfect, and ran perfect before it started doing this.

thanks for any input.

Put the motor at Top Dead Center and make sure that the marks on the cam gears line up.
