soft clutch pedal...
hey guys i was wondering because today i dorve my friends car..... saeme car.. year model.. make.. except the engine... but i love the way his clutch pedal was.. it was nice and stiff.. and caught at the bottom... unlike mine... mines like reallly really soft... and grabs at the top? any suggestions?
What kind of clutch does your friend have? What kind do you have? I know you can adjust where the clutch engages. Pedal feel I think depends on the pressure plate in the clutch. I have a cheap *** Advance auto clutch in my car and I hate how mushy the pedal feels. My buddy has a Clutchmasters stage four and I love it.

There are quite a few steps involved in adjusting the pedal. You can pick up a Hayes for under $20. It has a step-by-step w/ pictures that show you how to adjust it.

try bleeding the clutch
1. get a bottle of brake fluid, fill the clutch resivoir to the top.
2. remove that rubber cap from the bleeder on the slave cylinder, and put a small rubber hose on it. (the little vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake mani works well)
3. put the other end of the hose at the bottom of the bottle of brake fluid and squeeze the air out of it (i put the bottle up on my jack)
4. open the bleeder bolt on the slave cyl with an 8mm wrench.
5. pump the clutch pedal up and down by hand 5 or 6 times.
6. top off the resivoir (don't let it get empty!!!)
7. repeat steps 5 and 6 three or four times
8. tighten the bleeder bolt, remove hose and clutch should be nice and firm.

clutch doesnt matter..... as long as the hose taht u have on the release cylinder goes into a bottle with brake fluid in it.. that way you cant suck up air then ur good...
also same with brakes.. easy way to blead.. get a big brake fluid bottle.. fill it halfway up.. get a long hose.. connect it to the brake bleeder.. loosen it.. pump it..as long as when ur pumping it it only sucks fluid back up and not air ur fine.. lol check out a one man bleeder system.. takes me 5 minutes to bleed brakes

That definately works. Pepboys also sells something similar. It's a little clear container with a red top. It comes with hoses and nipples. You connect one hose to the brake bleeder, the other end goes into the bottle into fluid, the other just vents air.
Gives you a little extra security even if you have a friend there to help you. That way your friend can also tell you if there's air coming out.
