Default KILL SWITCH HELP!!!

hey guys.. yesterday iinstalled a fuel pump kill switch in my car... I flipped the switch both ways and the car still starts up fine either way...Why is it doing this??
I forgot to disconnect the negative part of the battery before i installed it but i took it off this morning and put it back on after 10 seconds... what could be wrong???

Maybe you conneced the swtich to the wire that shows fuel level instead of the power to the pump ?

also keep in mind that the car will run for a few seconds with the pressure built up from the last time the pump ran...

you probly connect the switch to a "non-important" wire like stated above

You should be able to see if the fuel cutoff switch is working just by turning the ignition to the on position and listening for the fuel pump to prime..

ya for sure....when you walk out to your car and its not there.....thats when your gonna hit yourself for not having all the protection you could have had. Like they say "its better to be safe then sorry"

I was asking because I really didn't know. I thought it had something to with racing or something. You know, like some kind of safety thing you had to do to race. I'm retarded.

im pretty sure i got the right one... theres only one that has a yellow and green wire...

car seems to run fine in both positions...
anything to do with battery?

No, it has nothing to do with the battery. You could have easily blown a fuse with the battery still hooked up, but that would make the pump never work, not always. The only thing that it could be was that you hooked up the switch wrong, either to the wrong wire or you didn't connect to the right contacts on the switch. Double-check your work.
