Does anybody on here have a kill switch on there car ???
if so, how & where did you hook it up so i could do it to mine.

any info would help.

You hook it up to the fuel pump power line. I think its the black wire with yellow stripe (at least its like that for the cd5).

Then just connect a switch between the two and your done.

Just make sure that you kill switch wont ground itself.

So when you're parked (car off), a potential thief wont be able to start the car b/c it 'kills' the fuel pump.

Here is a link to a page where this guy put a fuel cut-off switch on his 92-95 Civic. The power wire that you would need to cut might be a different color than the one in the link but it gives a good over view of whats needed and how to do it.

U know how some people remove the wheels on their bike to avoid theft? Why can't we do that to a car? For added security, remove the steering wheel as well. For even more security, remove your spark plugs.

Isn't it safer to do a kill switch for the starter motor? What if you are on the freeway and something happen to your switch, wires, soldering etc. and your fuel pump got cut? Starter kill is just as effective but safer.

if you put a kill switch on your starter and its a 5 speed car...leave the keys in it and let me know where you park it. (plz park it on a hill).. i will turn the ignition switch on ,put it in 2nd gear,(keeping the cluch down) and cruse down the hill and then lift of the clutch.........
that's a nice way to get you motor started

well if your going to put a kill switch in for your fuel pump make sure that you put the switch in the ground wire. not the power wire. That way nothing can short and your switch will last.

power wire----fuel pump-----ground wire------to car body(ground)

Place switch on the ground wire that way there is little to no voltage running thru the switch.

I've heard of people getting those quick release steering wheel hubs but some people say you can just use a vise grip or something and still steer the car. I dont know, thats just what I've read in the past.

Why not install a starter and fuel pump kill? A fuel pump kill is safe, just make sure you put the switch in a hidden place where it won't get bumped and make it so everything is reversible .

I don't remember what thread it was in but there was one in the security forum that discussed using the ground wire instead of the power wire. I believe they said the ground wire will be pulling just as much as the power wire. I can't really remember why they said that, I'll have to try and find it again. But just make sure you get a powerful enough switch and you'll be fine.

That is a cool location a very hidden but I'm sorry to say, he's not the brightest bulb on the tree to take pictures and show people where he mounted it.
