Ok so im ready to take my new ls turbo that was what i thought finally done out . And double cheched everything. every thing was good except that there was oil going to and from the turbo, but my brand new garrett t3/t4 compressor was not spinning very freely. ****, so i loosened it a little thinking that mabye i over tightened it when i clocked it, but nothing helped.

so, the FActs

The car has only started up and ran once for like less then 2 minute before this

Before on the car the compresssor spun freely by hand

The turbo is new

???? Im trippin cause this is my daily driver and i dont have much cash left + im moving from **** hole Michigan to Cali in a month and i have to have a running car!!

So what's the problem? It isn't spinning at idle?

Well first confirm that the turbo is actually in fact receiving oil. Remove the turbo oil feed and put the end in a container to hold any oil that should come out. Then start the car.

ok i checked, oil is going to the turbo and it is also returning to the pan so there is full lubrication, but the compressor wheel will only spin half way when the car is off by hand and it spun alot more freely before i put it on , so im puzzled, would it be ok for me to take the housings off to see if somehow there is a restriction in the housings ??

yeah i did and i found the restriction it was a ******* plastic bag !!! I was nervous to take the cover off since this is my first turbo build and i didnt want to mess anything up, but im glad i did . ends up i got lucky that the hardened melted plastic bag didnt bend any of the fins
