experience with a p72
im about to put an obdI in my 00prelude cuz im tired of dealing with the other o2 sensor... even with a simulator. which ecu would be best for performance? ive heard the GSR p72 is a good one... am i going to have to tune it or are the fuel tables going to work? i also want to get a vafcII so im keeping that in mind. also am i going to have any issues with other sensors or anything ecu-controlled that was new for the p14?
so much **** i have to do... im in the de-gettofication process now that im makin some bank but i think this is my first step cuz i just cant seem to get my a/f right... i think im gonna attempt to rebuild my head this weekend also cuz im burnin oil like a ************, which im thinking could be a cause of the bs fuel trim? im pretty sure its the valve seals but i guess ill find out for sure when im done. any suggestions on a good head rebuild kit would be appreciated. i found a few on ebay for around $150 but i duno if they can be trusted but ur the experts.

a chipped P72 for your application should work.
and for head rebuild parts, why not just go honda? inlinefour has them, so do many other places, and they're comparable in price with oem quality.

i was thinkin the honda parts would be just a tad more than $150. and as for the chipped ecu.. i dont really know how or where to go about chipping my ecu and i def dont want a generic rom unless its stock. i mean i guess i could try to tune it by feel and say f the dyno cuz i mean im tryin to save some $ here for the millions of other things i need to do...
but for a freshly rebuilt h22a4 would one rom really differ that much from another? ive heard every car has to be tuned itself but how much of a difference could it make?

it's best to get a chip burned from a competent tuner. there are programs they can use (neptune or crome or uberdata) that will be tailored to your engine. then you can fine tune with your a/f controller on a dyno. i'd talk to one of the known chip guys floating around here on HT. they know quite a bit and they can help.
aem ems > p28/72 w/ hondata/neptune/other > greddy emanage > vafc
if ur just gonna go obd I then get a regular p13 ecu, otherwise u can order a p28/p72 that is chipped to stock p13 maps, or if u think ur gonna tune in the future then get one with hondata or something and when u order it theyll put the stock map on it until ur ready to tune

buy a p28 with knock disabled, chipped for your IAB's. (it can be done), and with a stock p13 map. much cheaper and you can make sure your secondaries come on at the right rpm.
you can get a p28 chipped and ready for uber/crome/etc... for around $150 unless you chip it yourself.
usually when you burn oil on start up it's the valve seals. it could also be piston rings.

yea im burning a lot on startup and also when i shift or let off the guess which to me definitely means valve seals. correct me if im wrong tho cuz if im takin the head off i might as well just pull the engine and do the whole damn thing if its the piston rings
