b16a2 with gsr head, what ecu?
I have a 2000 civic ex, an the motor blew..
so i bought a b16a2 with a gsr head with b16 tranny.
i know i can use the d16 ecu but what would be the best ecu to use performance wise? im guessin the p2t si ecu right? i just want to make sure. what about p72 gsr ecu?
thanks.

i dont need anything top of the line, but i want something that will run decently.
would a p72 run about the same as p2t? if thats the case ill just pick up what ever i come by first.

Need to add something i forgot, make sure its the correct obd2, there is obd2a and 2b.
Your car is obd2b. But the obd2b integra;s have a imobolizer, im 99% sure on this, i dont think the obd2a do, but if you get that im pretty sure you will need to get a jumper harness.

the stock ecu for that gsr head is the p72... but i would recommend getting a p28 chipped like how 98civdx said and you gotta get the basemap for it which is must to run competely proper... you for sure got to get the ecu tune for it to work perfect and run harder than a p72 and get the most you can from a ecu

Re: b16a2 with gsr head, what ecu?
i may get a p28 chipped ecu later down the road when i start doing more work on the head/block but probably just get a p72 for now.
but i have another question. i am most likely going to get the p72 gsr ecu.
i am not entirely sure which one i am getting, i am going to need the obd2b correct? will the obd2a plug in? and work? or throw CEL codes?
i have 2000 civic ex with stock ex harness
00 b16a2 and i believe the gsr head is 00 or 01?(i dont know how to tell what year it is, if someone knows how to check, let me know)

obd2a will not plug in or work with the setup you currently have. since you are not planning on modifying the motor or anything now, the P72 or the Si ECU will be fine.
