Default How do you remove the circle clips for piston wrist-pins?!?

Ok so i got a new set of pistons after the ones i had kinda melted on me and i will be using the same eagles rods i had before. Now how it the world do i take off the clips that hold the wrist-pin in? It looks like a compressed spring and wraps around more than once inside the little groove. I have been trying for about an hour to get one of them off and i just can't. I got them on with no problem but its causing me a real big headache cause i need my car back together as soon as i can.

witha small flat tip screwdiver, or a oring pick. move the open end to the little slot then pry on the end with the screwdiver. or pick.

I use this thing. Its called a scratch awl. But it the same principal as a small flat head screw driver or a pick. I just jam it down under the snap ring and pry it out. Watch your eyes!

thats what i've been using, a really small flat head screw driver, i'm about to just take a dremel to the thing since the pistons are trashed anyways?

the only thing i need is the rods i have new wristpins and everything so i might use a hacksaw/dremel and just cut one side off so i can slip the rod out

err... those are for c-clips (snap rings, w/e) the circlips in our pistons dont have holes. they are just pieces of wire bent into a circle

funny how you just brought this up tonight, i actually just removed mine because i need the eagle rods only. Extremely easy to get out, i think they're way tougher to put in. I have one of those dentist pick things. Yeah...saw you already got them out though.

well my new pistons use like a circle clip and not the spiral ones and they were pretty easy to get in. And to get the old ones out once i figured it out i could get it them out in under a minute
