This isn't normal is it? My car won't go into VTEC unless the the engine is warm. Tonight I drove around for 30 mins and the car never went into VTEC. My car has an ex cluster but I think the tach is off. It normal hits VTEC at about 5250ish and idles at 750ish.

Also, I dunno if this is related or not but whenever I try to cruise at 4000 to 4500 RPM in 5th doing around 70-80mph It starts spuddering if I'm not past about 1/4th throttle.

I have a B16A by the way.

its not good to hit vtec when ur car is cold...u should let it warm up then hit vtec...most cars wont let u hit vtec until the engine is warmed up to a certain temp.

 

yeah, thats completely normal, your car must be warmed up for VTEC to engage.

 

i concur. no VTEC till ur warm. never get on any car till its warmed up! thats kinda like someone dragging you outta bed and making u run full speed immediately lol

 

Ok, I figured that. Any ideas on the other problem?
