Default CRX fuel issue PLEASE HELP!!

I have a 1990 honda crx DX model, its got some sort of wierd fuel issue. When on level ground, the vehicle runs fine. When pointed on an incline or downhill, the vehicle shuts off. The fuel pump and the fuel filter have been replaced to new and there IS gas in the tank. ANY ideas? I am stumped. The car is stock with NO mods! It does not have any after market alarm system to do any disabling! Has anyone seen this kind of problem?? AGAIN, I am stumped! Please let me know, or maybe somewhere I should start. thank you!!!!!!!!

How could it be spark issues? I would have no idea why it would lose spark on an incline or downhill slope. You got any ideas on that, I can't rule anything out but that would be interesting to find out. I'm up for anything at this point! PLEASE let me know

I concur....just had similar issue with mine.....when at a slant, sometimes the relay did'nt seem to work properly. When it doe'snt work properly, the fuel pump doe'snt run...resolder the connections on its board, and that will fix that IF indeed this is your problem. If you cant' find it, take out your coin holder under the drivers side vent, look in the slot there, and to the left, problably mounted on the side wall of the lower dash there.

Ok, so ya'll say check the main rely and make sure it is working properly? And then what is the next step you would take if the main relay box is functioning properly? I just really dont understand why this problem could be wiring or spark related when the car runs good on level ground but when moved to a slope, it shuts off. I will go do this main relay box now and see whats going on with that. Any other suggestions PLEASE!!???????

Ok, i put a new main relay in the vehicle and it runs better and I made sure it had gas in it and a good fuel filter. I can hear the fuel pump start up, but driving it back home last night, it cut out on us a few times randomly driving. Could this be b/c of the fuel pump line in the tank bent or does anyone know what the cause could be????

does your car smoke any? bc my crx just started cutting off at random times and it was that my rings where shot and the oil was causing the car to foul out.

wow i just replyed to this the other day its a bad injector or ecu
when it senses the injector is open it cuts off spark to not hurt it
if u unplug the lower injector it probaly would run just fine but not rev above 3000-ish i had this happen to me replaced injector and a week later it siezed up and no more spark. in turn it hurts the ecu so check the code probaly 13 i think it was and that injector
hope it helps

this has the multi port fuel injection, which as you know its only got i believe one injector in that carb lookin thing. So you believe its either the ecu or the lower injector?

solder contacts in the main relay go bad...resolder them!

Ways to check it and fix it, and even why it goes bad: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelay.html

ok, i guess i will get out the iron and try to resolder the joints and then if that doesnt work, i'll just drop the darn fuel tank and see whats going on in there. i just dont have a lift, so its not very easy! BOO
