Default is this a bad distributor? pics

car
91 civic ex - converted to manual
d16a6 bottom end
d16y7 head = 10.33:1 compression
i/h/e
centerforce df clutch

problem
car does not have power above 5k rpm or so. the motor keeps running but starts to fall flat on its face. also when i let off the throttle in 2nd she bogs a bit. everything is new on the car maintenance wise.

distributor
1. has small oil leak
2. dizzy cap had oil on the bottom side of the cap where it meets the distributor.
3. rotor corroded/rusted
4. cap points don't look good either
5. shaft has questionable play in it.
6. inside of cap had grime and white residue in it.
7. notice how in the 3rd or 4th pic the bottom half of dizzy is greasy and oily? wtf?

replace dizzy all together?? i think that would solve my issues.. anyother advice??
or should i replace cap and rotor first??

thanks everyone - hope the pics help!!

i had a similar problem, i replaced the o ring and it still leaked just as bad, it turned out it was leaking through the dizzy because the shaft wobbled quite a bit and the shaft had worn so much

i say distributor o-ring too, i had the same problem with oil under the dizzy. i changed the o-ring and presto, no more leak...also, buy a new distributor cap...both of these parts prolly less than $25 bucks anyways. if it's not that, u can still use the new cap for a future tune-up.

Bad cap, bad wiring, clean it up real good and make sure that oil is only coming from the distributor, and order the new o-ring. If its not throwing codes, it's probably ok, but definitely leaking.

If you have to buy a new distributor buy it from the Distrubutor King. Hes got a store on Ebay. I give him a . Mine went bad a while ago and his are brand new with upgraded stuff in them. If end up buying new it was about $120.

Change the oring and the cap, the cap has alot of crap and for the price you might aswell change it (They are like 10-15$). Then start her up, let her idle, take her for a boot then check her out. Leaking again, same crap in the dizzy, rip it apart and inspect everything. It just looks like oil and water inside the dizzy, that white stuff. And oil is leaking bas from the o-ring.

i am stepping on it.

i changed the cap, rotor, and new wires, new battery too(needed it).
ordered o ring from honda(only place i could find it) - be here tomorrow.

runs better, car no longer sputters - smooth.
it has more power at higher rpms but is still lacking some.
my exhaust has yet to be upgraded, and with my comp i think that is my next step.

i am still getting another dizzy to try, any other suggestions?
