The jdm B16 is the only automatic v-tec. I made the mistake of buying one. Converted my car ta manny bought a Gsr tranny and been happy eva since. By the way i got a jdm 2 gen B16 auto tranny for sale if u need it. The teg Ls B18 also comes auto but no v-tec.

ONLY auto trannies on B-series VTEC motors came from overseas. There was NEVER an auto DOHC VTEC in America.

There were however auto Integra LS and GS models, which have the B18B in them. The auto tranny would still bolt up to any other B-series motor, but WHY?

are the auto trannies physically bigger than manual trannies??
also, if i WERE to use an LS/GS auto on a vtec motor, is it possible to reprogram the LS ecu for vtec? i don't know much about ecu tuning. what obd are the 90-93 integras?
how hard is it to swap autos, like i have a 91 auto sedan (wrong forum i know...but seems like you guys know more bout bseries tho) and i just want something with more umph. i don't race and don't want to be fast, just fastER than i am now in traffic. plus it'd be kinda different...stupid to most...but still different.
thanks for the info

Yes the automatic tranny is bigger than the manual. As far as reprogramming the ecu for v-tec, i don't anyone who does it. You would probably have a better chance of finding a auto v-tec ecu from overseas. The chances are very slim for both ecu options tho.

Okay, we're actually in the process of doing a 1st gen b16 swap into an automatic 97 ex, the auto b16 tranny was not gonna work, so we got a hold of a auto GSR tranny from japan. I think we're going to have to take a little out of the frame to make it work, and they guy is just about to cry over it. We're using the GSR auto ecu, and are gonna try to use the civic's transmission computer, basically it's gonna be a wiring nightmare.

If I were to try it again, and could start from the begining, here's what i'd do.
b-series vtec engine,
ls auto tranny,
ls auto ecu, and full wiring harness
apexi vtec controller.

It sounds a lot easier anyway.

Sorry, although there were 4-door GS-Rs here in the U.S, there were NO auto trannies in them.

I promise you there was never a single auto trannied B-Series VTEC Honda in America. I'll try to get a page from the Integra service manul and scan it to show you that there were no suto GS-R 4-doors.
