Default McCulloch 6000K HIDs?

Anyone have any input on these? I have heard in the past they had problems with their ballast but the newer gen. is a lot better. Also should I get the upgraded harness to "draw power from battery" or stick with the "draw power from stock harness"? Should I just stick to the Xenon Depot 6000k? and are the Xenon Depot ones drawn from battery or stock harness?

thanks

McCulloch still gets their ballasts and bulbs shipped from Taiwan. Not sure about the ones from Xenon Depot. I run Mccullochs for about two years without any problems. I use OEM Hellas now. Why the 6000k light rating? The best output is achieved at 4300k. Use 5000k if you want a slightly bluer tint (i.e. Infinity look). And you should always run the power from the battery. Better reliabilty. You can hook them up via a relay. No need for a harness if you can wire it up yourself.

I had these a couple years ago. Was a great kit, the 6000 are aqua blue in color, so it draws attention (sometimes police watch you), but looks great. My friends loved it because they could always find me on the road.

I had no problems with the bulbs or the ballasts. I would use the 4300k as well though, since most states are passing laws about color on aftermarket HIDs. Only reason I got rid of mine was because I got ITR headlamps with HIDs

seen them go for anywhere from $280-$350 with group buys. Check the Marketplace. Almost always a deal on them there.

6000 bulbs are ricer ... stick with 4300-5000 bulbs ... you're trying to get the blue flicker hue that can only be achieved with projectors....

Now HID's are ricer?? Look at my pic, bright white, the blue hue is because of the projectors. Depo projectors, drop in hid kit, and i still have a nice cut off. I really want to go 5000K though. I think anything above 6000K is ricer.

He's not saying all HID's are ricer; he's saying 6000 bulbs are ricer because anything above 5000 is when you've surpassed the maximum useful light output and are just getting blue and blinding people.

it does have blue tint but in my opinion the 5000k doesn't give you that much noticeable output over the 6000k so why not get the one that looks better. who cares who's gonna think its ricer or not. its ur car. i had a ej with a jdm front end, wasn't into the ricer look but would have swapped out the headlights for some decent looking projectors with a 6000k kit anytime. its all on you. who cares what people think.
