Default Thought the throwout bearing was bad and found this....

I bought a 94 EX that squealed like a bitch when you pushed the clutch in. So I bought a new clutch kit for it. When we went to replace the clutch I disconnected the slave cylinder and jiggled the shift fork. Heard metal hitting the bottom of the tranny housing. Not a good sign.
Well, after we pulled the tranny off and all kinds of ball bearings were falling out we found this
If it wasn't for the little finger things on the piece on the left you couldn't tell that this was a throwout bearing.

Then pulling off the pressure plate and clutch disc I found the fingers on the pressure p[late were turned white from some serious heat and were bent inwards. Also, one of the rivets was busted off and just flying around loosely inside the pressure plate housing.

The weird part is that besides the squealing and grinding sounds this thing still worked like a charm. Scary isn't it?
Anyway, just wanted to share.
