Default Exhaust Piping

Would buying the muffler I want and then the piping ( 2 1/2 inch cat- back) be as effective as buying a catback system. I was thinking of buying dual world sport mufflers and then getting the piping later (kteller).

When I order the piping what all do I need to order ( car in sig).

Thanks in advance!

cant you go to your local muffler shop and have them do it? they have pipe, but it wont be stainless steel. and yes it would be the exact same thing performance-wise as a pre made cat back. i dont think youll be saving that much money by getting a catback fabricated, you should just buy one

the above statement is very much false...most exhaust shops (except a select few) don't have mandrel pipe benders, but instead use crush benders...this will yield huge amounts of restriction in your exhaust system as the piping will be smaller where bent...

now, kteller's exhaust piping is pre-mandrel-bent to your car's exhaust shape...all you have to do is have an exhaust shop weld it all up, which generally shouldn't cost more than around $60 (at most)...i personally own one of these exhaust systems and highly recomend them for both quality and price...also, if i were you, i'd just stick with a single exhaust setup, 3" all the way back from the cat since you have a v6...dual exhaust doesn't yield better performance when the exhaust merges before the cat...and you also don't have to buy 2 mufflers...

IMO...exhausts alone don't do sh*t...I have a 00' v6 coupe and my tanabe cat back didn't create much except for a nice tone. I think a lot of people tend to mistake sound for power...our cars can actually lose power with a cat-back exhaust...What other mods do you have for your accord?
