not safe imo the wheel is to skinny it will bow over the wheel to far. i mounted a set just to see how it looks,it looked a little dangerous to me but that is my opinion on it.there are others that might see it different.hth

i tried a 22x8 MH slick on a stock rim and the tread was so rounded it looked like a streetbike tire,, wouldnt waste my time

not safe, not recommended, but yes, i've seen people do it. problem with running such a narrow wheel is you're cuttin down on the actual width (contact patch) of the tire. so instead of being a 7" wide slick, it'll end up being a 5 1/2 - 6" slick.

Have u seen or heard someone had accident using stock on that slicks
But does the slicks still grip eventhough the width is cut to 6

I personally haven't. no. you can always get tubes for them too
but in all honesty. I'd reccomend spending the extra cash and getting some wheels. Lenso's are pretty cheap or even the Rota pan sport copies. I think u can get those for around 200bucks.

Hell, if you were up here, I'd just open up a charge account for you at my work (Les Schwab) and order you some Bogarts or Welds

So what do I get the 13x7 or 13x8 cuz my slicks is size 7.0 so ???? 13x7 is the right one ???
Or need a 13x8 so it will go more wider for traction ??
Thankyou very much for answering all my question appreciate it

well ive never dealt with a 7" slick, but 24.5 should be enough sidewall for the tire to conform to the rim width without distorting the contact patch.
7" slick isnt much tire btw.. what motor/trans are you running and whats the WHP roughly?

thats probably enough power to warrant an 8 or 9 inch tire,, im not expert but i know of cars in a similar power level that went better when stepping up several sizes from 22x8s each time. might wanna ask around

truth is, i dont really know, havent finished a race car yet so i dont have the experience to say myself that such n such was my experience.
my understanding is that you want the tire to spin off the line no matter what. this way the car doesnt bog and parts dont break. when you get too much tire, transmissions start popping or at the least, the car bogs. height will alter traction (because of a larger contact patch) and effective gear ratio. width will alter traction but effective gear ratio will be mostly unchanged,, perhaps different acceleration rate from increased tire mass, and ofcoarse a wider tire can "grow" a little more when spun so that can change gear ratio at the big end of the track as wheel speed increases.
if i had to guess, with a 250whp b16 i would probably start with an 8inch tire, or if it had more stroke (89mm +) i would probably jump right to a 9" tire. im not sure what height would best suit your ratio, that youd probably have to experiment with to see where youre crossing the line.
again, im not the guy to be asking so it would be nice if anyone who knows could jump in and help this guy pick a tire size
