It's a D16 motor, single cam vtec. YOur car is heavy, so turbo charging is probably the way to go, but the hybrid hatch guys will probably still run you down, unless you're planning to go all out. I used to have a CRX with an EX motor, ported head, and home made turbo kit (T3/T4), and it was quick, 12.90 at 106 at Pamona. The guy we got the kit from, said it was designed by Ron Bergenholtz, but I doubt it, it was pretty janky, but it did the trick. We smoked many, many cars at the street runs, including a boosted up 3000GT, a few GSX's, and turbo B16 powered Del Sol. We were running 9 lbs of boost full time. Later on, put bigger injectors, and a new computer, got greedy, boosted 12 lbs for about a week, and KA-BOOM! The whole set up only cost us about a grand. The motor was free from a motor swap car. It was a lot of fun, but Know your limits.

how long were you running 9lbs? 12.90 sounds nice. have another idea what would be the outcome if I put on a SiR Head which if every thing goes my way will be free and avail soon, then turbo that.

SiR head on ur motor??
civic SiR is DOHC, can't put a B series on a D motor.
swap the motor, ur car isn't THAT heavy, but it's heavier than dx, cx and vx's hatches.

damn just wishful thinking I guess, so there is no way to convert my D16z6 into DOHC, like I said ( dumb question), without a full engine swap

yes.....like tryin to put a square block into a circle hole. you should read in the hybrid and forced induction forums to get some ideas and help you out. you cant just put a turbo in your car if you dont know nothin about it....

Spend identical amounts of money on a tubocharged D16Z6 and a good DOHC VTEC swap and the swap will beat it every time.

And the swap is still stock, has stronger axles, better tranny, usually newer too with less miles, etc.
