Honestly man, it's a huge PITA to do right if you car came equiped with a power steering rack. They are a bit harder to turn with no power steering than a car that came with a manual rack.

That being said, it's such a small power gain it's not worth the effort or the hassle of trying to park in tight spots either. If you are hell bent on doing it though, there are several threads from long ago you can find by searching.

Loop the rack for the best results.

honestly, having no power steering w/ a power steering rack is a cinch. I have mine looped with a breather and after a day I didn't miss it at all. We drive civics which are under 2500 lbs and it's really not bad at all as long as you're moving, or just hit the gym.
some people have dyno'ed and it has been proven to free up to 5whp. I'm not saying everyone will get 5whp, but the power difference isn't as insignificant as one would think. In any case, the reason for doing this mod shouldn't be for the power "increase", but rather the feel of it. It feels much much better than the loosey feel of power steering.

it was only difficult removing the hard line from the ps rack. everything else was easy. you have to loop your ps rack or swap in a non-ps rack. looping is easier. it doesnt give a lot of benefit but personally in my own experience it feels more solid while racing and i feel more in control and in tune with the wheels at high speeds with no power steering

I replace my Civic PS rack to an Integra GSR PS rack for a shorter lock to lock. It wasn't difficult at all. Go to the yead and just take everything that attaches to it including the cooler up front.

i dont have p/s as well. the only bitch part about it is parallel parking in a tight space. but other than that, i dont mind it at all. p/s are pretty heavy. so you'll lose a little bit of weight there.

With the 2 cars that I have (1 with P/S the other without) I have to say that I enjoy no P/S alot more. You get alot of feedback from the road (which I REALLY like). However, if ya got no juice in teh arms, then im sure it would be horrible. I would say I actually work my arms out a little while driving :D
