Default 2000 Civic Si, got some cash to spend.

So I have about $1800 bucks what direction should i go.

I have a 00 Civic Si and this is what I have so far:

DC 4-1 headers
AEM short ram
exhaust
Skunk2 IM
Skunk2 Cam gears
Buddy Club cams (on the way)
High Compression valve train kit (on the way)
Skunk2 shortshift
Exedy Stage 2 clutch

Thats pretty much what I have and was thinking JR Supercharger but wanted to hear what the experts think. Not sure if FI is the way to go with this motor, and this is my daily driver.

sell the header and intake, should put you up to $2k-2100. you can piece together a turbo kit for that much, just dont cheap out on the tune and fuel system. or do cosmetic **** like some ******* hot bride or status seats. or put that into having the motor built at 10:1 so you can run high boost in the future. or build the head. honestly, untill gas comes down, id make my ride more comfortable, handle better and look better, not to mention making sure you have sufficient security to keep ****** assed thieves in check.

If you haven't already done so I'd upgrade the suspension and brakes. sounds like your on the right track for the motor, but sounds like your building it up for NA rather than boost.

I was originally building it for NA and thats fine but I am new to this so I want to make I go the right direction, one way or another. I just got my brembo slotted rotors in this week, its lowered on coil overs and I have strut bars already, plus I am already on the market for new bushings and sway bars without touching the mentioned cash.

It already has 10:1 compression in the b16a2 motor that comes in the 2000 Si I just am not to familar with FI and was wondering if thats viable on this motor, I dont have the cash to build the motor + turbo or supercharged.

I thought about building the head but how does that affect the bottom end if i leave it stock for now?

Here is a few pics as it stands now:

Thanks for the comments either way.

as far as cash goes, if you have it now, you can get it again. like i said, forged rods and pistons at 10:1, piece together a turbo kit, get a good fuel system(injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump etc) and a good tune at 12-15 psi and youll be ******* STOKED on the power youre making. in my opinion, superchargers are a joke.

as far as the head goes, aftermarket springs, valves and retainers are just basically precautionary at high rpm and reliablilty at all rpm with the exception of oversized valves lowering volume in the combution chamber thus raising the compression.

with the pro 1 cams i think its more viable to go all motor right about now. Just mill the head and get a thinner head gasket to bump up compression, or just use some pct pistons to bring the compression up. Since this is a daily driver i would just recommend raising the compression up a little and using the pro 1s and tune the car. A turbo causes too much hassle, thats what i think, takes too much maintenance. But in any case this is your car, so do what you want, thats the important thing in the long run. If you want turbo, turbo, just research ahead of time to make sure you know what your gettin into

thanks Carbonyl, that is what I planned on doing. Its just the more and more I read here there are a cubic *** ton of folks pushing turbo. I know I need to make the decision myself so please folks dont flame the fat kid lol.

Would it be best if I do head work to do the block also as a daily driver?

well I got a valve train kit and the buddy club 4 cams I guess NA it is for now. Still got a gang of **** to get but I think as a daily driver this is the best solution.

isnt 10:1 a little high for FI? 9:1 sounds a little more right to me...
if you like Fi check out that part of the forum and ask the guros there

If I was you I would definitely stay NA, I'm not saying FI can't be reliable but considering this car is your daily driver you can still make decent power and be much more reliable with NA.
IMO, spend your money on racing seats and cf hood and lip.

damn if you dont care for the thread dont read it and dont ruin it with retarded posts! It took you more energy to click the link and flame than to skip over it and read another. I have been searching and reading and still wasnt sure what to do so I posed. BTW I did make a decision and I am going with it NA.

jerbear! thats an intelligent comment, thanks for the info, I can now rule the world with the vast knowledge you have spilled!

For those with constructive points thank you.

My car is my personality but unlike you Honda Gods, some of us are learning and want to do things correctly, sometimes searching isn't as personal as a constructive comment based on your own personal situation and what direction is best.

I already have some stuff done to the car:

i/e/h
bored TB
sk2 IM
Exedy stage 2
sk2 short shift
coil over kit
strut bars
Brembo Rotors

and now I have Buddy Club Cams coming and a full valve train.

I wanted to add more power but keep reliable so i am going with NA(WOW DECISION WAS MADE, READ THE POSTS).

Thanks again for the positive comments. And to all you flamers

After you do all that invest in a security system and an auto lock and a detachable sterring wheel and a kill switch some where on it and what ever else you can think of to keep your car.Trust me on this I lost this 3 years ago.$2000.00 in mods 4000.00 in stereo 360 cds. 0.00 in security dumb on my part.Went in to see a movie came out to an empty parking lot.Oh wait the factory alarm lol.

Yeah tell me about I have had my share of hondas this is 3 more pics of the 5 I have had. Plus my sweety is on her second prelude si.

And going for number 6 in a few weeks lol.
But the SI was the only one I have had stolen.
One of the top 25 stolen in america so honestly security is a must to me.
