has anybody installed one? it is the single shift light, not the monster tach thing, it is just a small cylinder with a light and has a pill rpm chip thing, and one wire goes to a ground, one to something on ignition, and one on 12volt, but i don't know what part on the ignition to put it on, or where the hole is through the firewall, any help would be cool, i am really not experienced in electrical installations of anykind

actually, i kind of want a "stealth" type install, where you can only see the light sticking out, so it is'nt all proped up on top of the dashboard, maybe i can cut a hole in the dash and have it stick out of it, not sure.
i haven't installed a shift light before, but i think you would have to tap into the tach signal for the shift light since it will activvate depending on rpms...
to wire it you can run it off the distr...the blue wire on the 2nd plug o the dizzy...the plug w/2 wires....i have mine tapped into theis wire!and about putting it so you can only see the light, put it behind the vents like B16CRX said...that whould be a first for me to see..or even hear about!
about the hole in your fire wall..there is more then one..but i will tell you where mine is run though..behind the ecu where the wiring harness goes thought the fire wall i ran it though there..you can run and run the power to a 12V of some kind...and just ground it!!very easy install!

umm behind the dash = MAJOR problems.. mine caught the wire on fire...i just ripped out my cig lighter..and trimmed that up kinda WELL hidden..sucks doing the day time but at nite looks good! but tap one into a postiv and neg and one into the dist itself..i have mine set for 8000k and it is nice!
dude...you can hook everything up through the dashboard.
unplug your cluster, find a light blue wire...that's the 'ignition' lead
attach the ground to any solid black wire in your cluster...that's ground.
attach the 12v constant to a white w/blue stripe coming out of your radio DIN harness. and you're done. if you need more help, send me an IM on here, or at 'gotsatight92si' on AIM. btw, i'm in dallas

easy ****:
run power to alternator fuse on inside fuse box
run ground to a bolt (anything as long as its bolted into metal) near the fuse box as well
hook up rpm wire to blue wire on 2nd sensor on dizzy. you can prolly unplug the sensor, drop the wire inthere on the blue side and re clip it together.

why don't people ever understand you don't have to run it to the dizzy? there's already a lead going to the gauge cluster!!! just tap into it!
yeah hot_EF's right, there should be a wire(blue) going right behind your instrument cluster. also, make sure that the shift light's gonna be easy to see too, during the night it will almost anywhere, but u may want it during the day too, just a thought
