Eventually you will need shocks, but the closer you get to 2 inch's on your drop, the more you will need a camber kit. I would go ahead and do it. That's cheaper then buying new tires every 4 months...

if you're going the DIY route-then replacing the shocks now will save hassle of having to remove everything in the future(spring compressor), and getting a camber kit will also save and money, but I would hook up the shocks and springs aline it and go from there, if your alignment is not totally out of whack, you might be good without the camber kit..good luck
-p.s. what car is this set-up going, and what does your rolling stock consist of..(stock wheels, 16's 17's..etc)

depends which kyb. there are 2:
the kyb gr2's and kyb agx

the gr2's and tokico's are pretty much the same, both a little better than stock replacements.

the agx is pretty good, i have them, but they are drop killers. the next best, imo, is the illuminas, then in 1st place is the konis.

Even if you are going for show only you still want the ride to be functional, if you lower the car you change the dynamics (response to roads, elements etc..) I would suggest the tokico HP(blue) a shock better suited to lowering while not being to stiff, the Tokico Illumina(white) a worth the extra penny up front, and are adjustable to suit your needs. I have had three hondas and rolled tokico with each and they handled well and were suited to my needs. But definently upgrade your shocks...
