rust valve

Default rust valve

i was takin the intake manifold out of a d16z6 block that i bought. i was lookin through the intakes valves .theres a rust lookilike residue on it. the previous onwer told me that engine had been sittin for almost a year he never used it. so can it be? what do u guys think it is? can it be just moisture? do you guys think i can just ignore it and drive around w/ it. what can i do to remove the rust?

the "rust-like residue" is likely RUST... you might want to check the engine out a little more, maybe get the head checked out... engine might not even run
