Default OT: so i had to call in sick... was left stranded 5 houses down

my alarm went crazy and wouldnt let me drive, i got 5 houses down my block and the car just turned off and siren going crazy at 545 in the morning (im sure my neighbors love me even more now) so i had to use my limited amount of sick "frequencys" i guess its a good time to call around looking for a place to install a new one today..

and i dont even drive the car daily, just that the subaru was hit by a taxi 3 weeks ago and im waiting for the body to be fixed...

You could have pulled the alarm fuse and reset the computer and drive to work...I think...

This is partially true.

You need to pull the alarm fuse (usually inline with the red wire).
You won't need to reset the computer (i guess u mean ecu).
You will need to reconnect the starter wire under the dash though. When alarms are installed the starter is cut for the starter kill relay.

If you need any other help with this matter let me know

thanks for the help, i called a few shops and 1 had the switch i needed for the "blackjax" box..

when i tried unpluging the alarm ECM the car was 100% dead, so i had no choice but to get the part, so i just finished putting the switch in and the car is good again, but i must say this system works very well,

You towed it a couple of blocks? What happened to manual labor? Push that thing

What exactly did you have to replace? I'm guessing that the part failed on you.
