okay new to the site but have a few questions. i did a mini me swap on my 99 dx and put an ex head. the first couple days car ran fine vtec popping and all. but latley the past month the vtec is not popping i know u cant here it to much on a single cam but u hear no change over for the vtec or anything. would any body else know what the problem could be

 

Is the car wired for vtec? Are you using the vtec dizzy? Are you running a vtec ecu? Did you use the right timing belt for the ex head? Did the head have any bent valves? Need to know a little more info before it can be analyzed.

 

car is wired for vtec has vtec dizzy with vtec ecu the timing belt is correct. nothing wrong with the head its good just stopped popping vtec and dont know y

 

anybody know the problem need help

 

low oil, clogged solenoid, bad oil, easy way to see if it is actually engaging is to tap the green wire from the solenoid, run it to the car to like a led, wire in a 330 ohm resister (could be wrong on that resister) and then ground it. when vtec engages, it should light up. gl

 

thanks man tryed what u said vtec kicks over good had a short in the wiring but got it going and running strong
