Default water temp guage

i installed my sir gauge cluster and b16 into my crx at the same time so i am not too sure of what is caussing this but as soon as i turn my key to on the water temp guage max's out, i dont see anything that it could be out on, so i was wondering if i could just run a new wire from the gauge to the sensor, or do i need to run somthing to the ecu as well?

Mine does the same thing , but , I never took the gauge out.
It just went up one morning and has done it every sense.
The shitty thing is when it happened I thought I ran it hot , even took it to my machanic and told him to pull the head , replace the head gasket , and go ahead and do the water pump , timing belt , ect. why he had it apart.
Oh well , she was due for the timing belt and water pump anyway.

its ran in the main wire loom , hard to see.
What if I ran a new wire , would that work if I used good wire and butt connectors.

yep, when fully unrestricted ground applied it will max out.

mine has an intermitting grounding problem, i tap the cluster clear cover and it goes normal, hit a bump and up to H she goes.. on and on.
