Can a lack of burping coolant cause you to lose additonal coolant?
I own a 95 Civic EX. I changed my radiator not too long ago and I did not "burp" the coolant. So I've been losing coolant slowly like every month or so. I am positive that I'm not leaking because when I leave the house in the morning there is no liquid underneath the car. I know it's not my head gasket either because there is no smoke coming out of my tailpipe and my gas mileage is still good. So I've refilled the coolant about three times now and it lost coolant again today causing my car to overheat. So the only thing left is the lack of burping. But would this cause me to lose more coolant than what I've already poured in THREE times? Please help.
How can I check to see if the water pump is busted if there are no leaks? I read somewhere that if you open up the radiator cap and if the coolant is just at a stand still then that means that the water pump is busted. Can someone confirm this?
dunno, but what i did, was warm up the car real good, and turn the heat on full, and blast the head on high, drove around for like 30 minutes like this, this should work out all the air bubles.
ALso, remove the radiator cap, start the car, let it idle for like 10 minutes with it off, and squease the left radiator hose a bit, and you will see bubbles come out, keep filling it because it will drop once the fan kicks in. Let it the fan kick in 2 times, and keep lightly squeasing it in a sexual motion, let your girl friend do it she probably will get the most air out.
