Default new helmet question......

So I was thinking of picking up an arai helmet, but I've never tried one on, and there arent any places around me that sells arai. That being said, I was gonna order it through the ebay.

I basically fit every type of helmet in Medium, I have a shoei, kbc, and a hjc; all are medium.

My question is now, is there anyone that can vouch that has a shoei and arai in the same size?

if so, I appreciate it.

All helmets are different...go try one on before you buy.

Be careful, there was a time where there were a lot of fake helmets on eBay

is there a cycle gear in your area?

i have M Arai RX7 Corsair .. and i had a KBC in L .. but looking back with the KBC, i should have been sporting a M.

Doesn't help much i know, but you should have a cycle gear near ya, and they carry Arai

+1 on Cycle Gear.

http://www.cyclegear.com/stores/location_ca.cfm
http://www.cyclegear.com/stores/sacramento.cfm

And once you've found one that fits, buy it for CHEAP elsewhere.

j/k..I'm all for supporting your local shops, assuming they DESERVE your support.

As for fitment, if it helps at all, I fit a Shoei X11 XL and Arai Corsair XL. But definitely try it on for yourself. If you're close to a perfect fit, typically the shop that carries Arai can "custom" fit it for you with different sizes of cheekpads/liners.

different helmet brands feel differently. I didn't like the HJC's, the Arai's fit kinda funny for my head, the Scorpions were near perfect, and the Shoei's were also quite nice on my head.

Try to find a local shop - must be one near you - to try on the helmets.

edit: found shops near you for Arai dealers

My Arai is really starting to **** me off right now.

The lining in it is kinda meshy, i think to promote airflow. But right where it is around the cheeks and lips, it is starting to fray just a little, and it feels like hairs are on my face and ****.

This is a damn near brand new $500+ helmet. I like my suomy a little better, since the inside is kinda suedish.

anyways, i still like my Arai though

Remember that Arai's have different head fitments besides just the sizes!!! Go talk to someone at a local store to find out more info...

Lol thanks bro, maybe I should change my location. I'm at Fort Huachuca, AZ 85613, well the closest cycle trader has a sale on them 510 for quantum 2's plus I get a 10% discount. So yeah I'll be heading out there at 3 once I get off work.

Thanks everyone for lookin' out.

Sorry to hear it.

I spent five years at UCD, and I don't miss Sacramento at all.

My bro graduated in 04' at UCD, maybe you knew him, doubt it though. He got an EE degree.
