Default POSSIBLE SCAM need some informattion regarding aribags

i am the seller in this case and ill post a link to the thread i made in the classifieds

http://hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1630794

my question is on the s2000 drivers side airbag if it deploys is the cover still usable....as in can you put the cover back on to make it look stock.....or does the airbag blow through the cover breaking it like every other honda ive ever seen.

long story short this guy is trying to tell me the steering wheel airbag that i sent him was deployed before, and i want to be sure that i am correct in stating that thats impossible.....please verify and please post in the link if you guys could

THANK YOU

I work for a very large bodyshop. When the airbag comes out it rips the dash and the wheel, NO MATTER WHAT. If you look at the wheel you can see where the damn thing is made to break. He is full of ****

payyourtoll (10:46 AM 5/17/2006): That is exactly what I am trying to figure out. He sold the bag and now that buyer is filing for refund, we have no choice but to go this route. I see your points, just have to get to the bottom of it. The bag definitely feels very soft, I have owned a few s2000s and bought a few additional oem wheels, and never felt one like this. This is the only reason I am approaching you until we find out for sure.

this is what he just sent me

what? taking the cover off??? that sh*t will explode like a bomb...

there is no way in h*ll, some1 could replace the cover w/o detonate the sh*t. if the airbag was used, it'll make biiiigggggg a*sss hole on the cover. you can't miss it.

besides.. it's been 2 months.. where do ppl think h-t is???? costco.

you can't fix a deployed air bag, you just can't its impossible

i used to work for toyota, its impossible, at the least the body shop would get a new one, if you put it back in or try to cover it up there of huge H look on the bag.

this guy is trying to scam you, or is an idiot

they can't get the SRS off because they needed to disconnect the batter and the SRS fuse install it, or he needs to take it to honda to get it cleared.

bleedblue94 (10:50 AM 5/17/2006): so now he sold the airbag to someone else??

payyourtoll (10:54 AM 5/17/2006): he was trying to but could not due to the issue.

bleedblue94 (11:15 AM 5/17/2006): you guys can have it check out all you want.....i know that there is no way that was deployed...anyone who knows anything about aribags knows they blow a hole right in the middle of the wheel....a non repairable whole that could not be mistaken for anything else

My airbag definitely ripped through the middle of my wheel. That is the way all airbags are designed. They rip through the cover. Could you imagine if they were on some sort of hinge and the cover flipped open? One time it would fail, break off, hit someone in the face, kill them, giant lawsuit.
