Default buying a civic need some info....

ok im buying a 92 civic hatch... it has a couple spots of minor rust. its a 5 speed and has black motor that looks like my friends older style integra motor ? its got a black valve cover? my friend said its an ls non vtec? i dono. its got 176k on the odometer which might be the car or maybe the motor too dono. they want 1500$ for the car which would have me driving to work and anywhere that day all the extra bs from buying a new car coverd. is that a good deal? or should i be telling them lower?

well the only way to tell what motor is in it is by the engine code. But as far as a daily driver offer him 1200 and see what he says. thats alot of miles on the car.

I would definetely see if he will go lower, I have a 94 cx hatch and the NADA value was only 1600 for it, and that's with only 70k miles. Good luck though

Yea.....always try to get them to come down, check the engine code to see what kind of motor it is (lower left hand side of the block when you are looking at the motor)......and have someone who knows more about cars check out that motor and swap and all.
