ok i have my 89 4 door with sohc zc non v-tec swap. i go out to start it up this morning and turn the key, it cranks over 6 or 7 times then chugs once and then cranks again. i take the intake off and watch it while i turn it over it cranks 6 or 7 times and then chugs and a little puff of smoke comes out of where the intake tube hooks up to the throtle body. what is my porblem?

also when it does chug it sounds like the thud is comming from the exhaust, no idea what it is?

timing has to be off......if it's spitting back out of the intake

 

how would that happen?

 

and how would i get it back in time?

 

Put the cams at top dead center and the crank

 

how do i get them all lined up?
