How To Wire a B18C5 Into an EK3?
Im gettin this swap done guys for a really cheap price at a shop that normally swaps ford,renaultvauxhall engines etc so i need EXACT info on how to wire in the ITR engine into my EK Civic.
Dropping in and connecting all the lines up on the engine should be no problem for them but im just worried they might be out of their depth with the wiring.Dont want them messing it up on me!
Ive seen countless threads and how to of how to swap this engine but never found any solid info on the wiring aspect.
My questions...
What exactly does the wiring involve,any soldering etc?
Is it a matter of connecting the right wires to the pinouts?
Will wires need to be spliced?
When we talk of wiring,its the wiring into the ECU yeh? Wires from the engine pulled through the firewall into the footwell?
Anyone got step by step directions of how to do it?
If you could explain using the diagram please in lay man terms!

Sorry for the noob questions! Just never really understood the wiring side of things...
Thanks to all in advance!!

Im sorry EK3 is what for us? EX? DX? Did you have a VTEC motor or non VTEC? And what year, same year as the type R?
I ask this because if its a VTEC motor and same year as the type R everything will plug right into each other (not 100% sure about knock).
Now if you had a non VTEC motor i suggest getting a VTEC harness since I think yours goes from the engine straight to the ecu. But if not there is some repinning involved and you could either crimp the wires or solder (i always solder for a good connection).

i have a b18c1 in my 00 civic hatch and i used a 2000 civic si harness with the p2t ecu for now.. harness plugged right in the only problem i had was the distributor but that was becuase i have a obd1 distributor.. simple enough... it does matter tho on the year of the car and the year of the motor
i thought there were EK4 and EK9
EK4=96-98 SIR
EK9=99-00 R
the 3 is news to me...but i dono all this lingo..
its proboly an SIR and it had a b16 in it...everything should be plug and play sir....

EK3 had a D15B engine. Had VTEC and 3-stage VTEC

seems like blue integra boy always has my back on this forum
i dono i was close i suppose...
to answer the question tho it still seems like it would be a plug and play affair...maybe just lenghten a few sensors...
does it have the 3 iacv fix like the USDM? that would be his only problem to think of?
