Wiring help!
Just finished up my swap in my EF, Im now wiring up V-tec, o2 and knock. While doing this, do I just T the wires from the ecu? Or do I cut the wires from the ecu and connect directly. If I connect directly, wont it leave an open circuit from the cut wire, causing the engine not to start?
Thanks for the HELP!

Im guessing by "T" you mean T off of the wire that is already in the pin.Dont do that if thats what you mean.I just finished another customer's wiring last night on a '90 civic hatch dx to sir. There is a wire at A8...cut it with enough wire left over and run that wire to the vtec solenoid.B5 is vtec oil pressure switch, run that to the ops(there is a wire there too that needs to be cut)...C8 is 2nd o2..dont rememver if there is already a wire there),and knock sensor is b19.I run the wires directly to the ecu plug, than use a spare set of male and female connectors and run all of those wires to the connector/plug.It makes the swap cleaner and if the engine ever has to be removed again, you wont have to cut the wires, just unplug them.I can take a pic later tonite of how I did it.
Also, the wires that were in the pins that were cut..I just put some hit shrink over the ends so that they dont touch any metal and short anything out.You could use tape if you dont have heatshrink.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, by "T" I meant, just what you said. So I just leave the harness cut wires open(cut)? Ok, I cut all the (4) wires and directly connected the extra wire I left from the ecu pinouts. Now, my car wont start!
ts cranks but wont start, its giving me a code 15. What happened to the ignition output signal
It wouldnt happen to be because of those cut wires left cut?

After the wires are cut,you run wires from the leftover wire in the plug to the sensor on the engine. The other side of the wire that was cut should just be taped up or heatshrinked so it doesnt come in contact with any metal or wire.Did you have to re wire the vtec distributor or are you using the sohc si distributor?
Haha..no problem.Just remember...if youre looking at the plugs at the wire harness side than it goes
1 3 5 7 9 11 etc..
2 4 6 8 10 12 etc...
And that the a plug is the biggest, followed by the B than the C and the pinouts go the same order for them as well.
If youre looking at the plugs from the pin side, where it plugs into the ecu..the pin #'s go..
11 9 7 5 3 1
12 10 8 6 4 2
A8 is vtec solenoid(the one wire sensor on the solenoid),B5 is vtec oil pressure(two wire sensor on solenoid, with the other wire grounded to the thermostat housing)
