Default No vtec, Need help fellas

no vtec engagment
b16sir2 w/ obd2 conversion using the si (p2t) ecu in a 2000 ej8.
The other morning on my way to work the same thing happened.
I stopped at the rest stop, unplugged a few different connections n cleaned them, checked the oil level. Then reset the ecu. When i got back on the parkway vtec crossed over. Would resetting the ecu cause the problem to temp be solved, as if it was a cel n the car would have to be driven X amount of miles for it to go back on....
I do have a cel on, originally for n o2 sensor, but i guess i gotta run a diag to see if there is another code up now...
Any suggestions fellas?

What kind of oil are you running? (thickness)
I would say clean your vtec selenoid screen. It's a metal screen (filter) that's inside the selenoid. It could be clogged or just dirty. Check it out.

I don't really know if it's even a recommended "serviceable" part, but it does help on some cases. I guess try searching because this happens often.

Attach a 12v test light to your vtec signal wire to see if it's something that's stopping it before it engages or if the signal is sent and it's mechanically not running.

And props for central NJ,

lol.. sounds good

I was thinking it might be the vss since my speedo jumps occasionally.. i guess if i test it w/ a 12v light i will kno that its not getting the sig n it could possibly be from a bad vss..

can anyone verify that a bad vss could cause vtec to not engage?

Bad vss = no vtec. Vtec is speed sensitive.
