Default Power surging under constant throttle (Not Idle, Searched)...

Well I bought this '96 dx hatch a couple weeks ago and it has been fine, until today when it got pretty hot outside, when i try driving it, no matter what i did, when the car was under load, the power would surge, kinda similar to as if the clutch started slipping then grabbed again, it would do it when i was accelerating as well as when i was trying to hold a steady speed on the highway, I had noticed the problem before, but it got especially bad today during the afternoon when it was hot (95+ degrees), I drove the car tonight when it cooled down and the car was very smooth, so I'm assuming it has to do with the outside heat, I looked in the service manual and it stated that it could be the fuel pump, intake leak, bad ecu or loose injector wiring harness, I have checked them all except the pump and the ecu (Bad ecu? never seen that before ), I did a couple searches but could only come up with idle surging threads

Just wondering if anybody else had similar problem, tryin to rule out my options before spending the $ on a fuel pump

Thanks in advance

My Slo-tech z1 had the same problem. Replaced everything Ignition and Fuel related. Started replacing emission parts and the EGR Valve fixed it. Going on 20,000 mi. with no more sudden jerks or hesitation. My .02...
