Hey guys,
Just took the R over to the dyno. It is a really nice place in scottsdale AZ, called dyno-comp.
The problem is that the VAFC (piece of S#!T) was not making any changes at all. The car was falling flat on its face between 7K-8K.
Mods that matter at this point:
APEX-i VAFC
Iridium plugs
Brand new OEM injectors
JDM ecu
Top Fuel intake
JDM header
Kakimoto exhaust
Cam gears @ +3 intake -2 exhaust
My first inclination is to rip the VAFC out, and just use the ECU. I have been meaning to do this for a while. But i am also concerned that the timing will need to also be changed.
let me know what you think.

vafc has nothing to do with timing. If you feel that it is not doing anything, taking it out wouldn't affect anything. Remember to re-connect the wires properly to avoid troubles down the road.

Yeah, this will be somewhat of an adventure. I will see what happens.
i would do the same thing Ham, take it out and see what you're putting out will just the ECU, afterwords maybe a Hondata or Chrome set up...
you have a picture of your intake installed?

Not sure how to help you with the low numbers but just for reference I took my old 2000 ITR with 70K on the clock bone stock and dynoed it there at Dyno-Comp and it put down 156 whp there. (It later put down 165 on a Dynojet still bone stock) and the guy who owns Dyno Comp says that dyno sometimes reads lower numbers cause of the way they measure or apply the loads or something like that.
So its sounds like this place might use a mustang dyno and if thats the case, 150 is about dead on and quite good.

Yeah, I believe that it shows about 7% lower. This has something to do with the way the load is read with the different setup. (two wheels, instead of one big one.)
I am sorry, I don't believe I have a recent pic of the intake, I will see if I can get one.
The main reason I am concerned is that the last time it was dyno'ed there it showed 164.7 to the wheels. This is 14hp less, and at the wheels! AHH!
guess its time for a wiring nightmare

I meant did you check that they didnt slip. Did you adjust them on the dyno to see if it affects the power output?
