Default help with my stereo woes

About a year ago my sub quit working right, it was sucking in instead of pushing and pulsing even with the volume all the way down. after checking everything else i switched my rcas from the sub output to the rear output and that fixed it. well about a week ago my sub started doing the same thing again. i have no more outputs to use and im not sure if its the outputs or my wiring.

any help is appreciated, the head unit is a 2 yr old pioneer deh p6500

Unplug the RCAs from the amp and see if the sub still does that. If it does, then its your amp. If not, then its the headunit.
